Essaness opened the six-screen Golf Glen on June 8, 1984, in the shell of a former A&P supermarket. It was remodeled just two years later, when Essaness was taken over by Cineplex Odeon. After initially closing in the late 1990s, it was reopened by Village Theaters in 2002. Unable to compete with modern multiplexes nearby, the Golf Glen closed for good in early February, 2006.
