I went out yesterday to see if the Orion V were still running, and to fan as much of Suffolk County as I could. Unfortunately, I saw none, but it was quite the trip. My friend and I first hit up Brentwood at around 6:30 AM, requiring us to wake up around 4 AM. We stayed there for about an hour or so, then took the 3B (first ride on SCT) to South Shore Mall with a very friendly operator. We didn't stay too long at the mall, and we walked south to take the S40 to Patchogue, arriving at around 10:30 AM. We were there a good while and ate at some Chinese place. We headed back to Bay Shore on Gillig #5004, marking the first time I've ridden a Gillig bus. We immediately transferred to the S42 (#5009) to change things up a bit and arrived at Babylon at 2:45 PM in a last ditch attempt to catch an Orion V. None from SCT showed, so when #1663 on the N72 showed up we decided to take it all the way to Hempstead, perhaps to see if a Foothill made an appearance. I did a full route recording which was almost ruined by my lolling back and forth between sleeping and staying awake. #1017 showed up on the N49 and again I did an almost full recording of the entire trip (I wasn't aware Broadway Mall was the last stop). Finally saw one of the new shuttle buses NICE bought at Hicksville. To top the trip off, we took an M3 back to Jamaica.

RETURNING TO YARD must be a sign unique in the USA.
