The CNYRTA board approved the fare increase and service cuts with just a few modifications:

- Some Saturday service will remain on the 54 Midland, 58 Parkhill and 84 Mattydale bus lines due to the level of ridership (these routes do not operate on Sundays).

- In response to public feedback, some service will be retained on the Route 31 corridor to Great Northern Mall during weekdays on the 246 Syracuse-Oswego route.

- 26 South Ave service will be rerouted to Bellevue Ave., Onondaga Ave., Glenwood and Corcoran High School to patially replace discontinued route 56 Stolp-Strathmore.

The board also approved funding to maintain the current alignment of Auburn-Syracuse service along Howlett Hill Rd. between Camillus and Marcellus. This also means that route 36 Camillus will keep its current configuration with some trips extended from Camillus Commons to the village (these would have been replaced by the rerouted Auburn service).

A lot of riders were upset about the increase in the cash fare from $1.25 to $2.00, but regular riders will only see a 25-cent increase if they use a pass or a 10-ride card. Transfers will continue to be free. |
