"Clipped".............

Over the weekend, a UNITED 767, coming into Newark (EWR) with its landing gear extended) clipped a light pole along the NJ Turnpike and, also, "nipped" a tractor trailer (thankfully, the trucker received only minor injuries)

News reporters comment how incoming planes seem to be ready to land right on top of the vehicles passing beneath them on the Turnpike.

I can safely vouch for this; many times, such an experience could be as frightening as it was exciting!

This situation, indeed, could have been catastrophic.......
