Here's a nostalgic (Toronto) view from 1976; when I saw the rear window treatment of the passing trolleybus, you came to mind!

Yep. But only 3 pieces. Apparently the width of the outer edges ensured there'd be no 4-piece variant on the back of that mode of transport. The one upfront, it does seem a bit "Pea-See-See"-derived, no? |

In all honesty, I never paid much attention to the rear windows used on Fishbowls until you began commenting, quite awhile back; then my memory DID begin to recall the different variations.
Interestingly, on the many vintage toy Fishbowls I have in my collection, you'll see both the three piece and four piece rear windows being replicated.....

Here's an interesting history page on TTC's now-gone trolleybuses; be sure to note the photo taken at the Hillcrest Shops, after the electric coaches were retired............

Multiple links to photo pages (TTC trolleybuses) on left of page; several excellent photo galleries on the "New Look" Flyers*......

I noticed one of them . . .
https://transittoronto.ca/images/trolleybus-9005-02.jpg
(courtesy: transittoronto.ca)
. . . on the front, resembled post-war White buses.
And also, Flyer's logo almost resembled Flxible's. |

That trolleybus in the color photo is a "CCF-BRILL" (the "ACF-BRILL" design is the tip-off, here; Ottawa also had some of these))
In 1973. Montreal was still running some really nice CCF-BRILL motor buses (took a few rides; snapped some photos!)

Baseball "nooze" for Sunday:
TWO YEARS IN ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Doze DOD-jers From El-Ay" WON (it WAS a "squeaker", to be sure!) da 'Woild' Series!""
Man, oh, man, the "AFYs" sure AIN'T loving this!!
Doubt there are any smiling "Bloo-Jays" fans heading home via the TTC's "Le Electrique Escargots" and "BINOs", in these wee, small hours!
"NYO"
["GO, DODGERS!"] ("foist" back-to-back champions in 25 years!!) |

Interesting. "Doze Traffic DOD-jers from El-Lay" have won eight "Woild" Series championships total since moving there, and nine in general (their 1955 win whilst still in Brooklyn). Amongst National League teams, the highest tally of WS wins was the "Saint Looie" Cardinals with 11 to date. The Giants in total have eight WS victories under their belt - but only three of them since moving to San Francisco, and all in this century (the other five were when they were in "Noo Yawk"). Combined, that's one more than the once-gloried, now hollow shell of a "team," Yankees' 27 wins. Talk about disproportionate. Small wonder there's such satisfaction when "doze squeakers from da Bronx" fall in the post-season - and especially in last year's "Woild" Series.
The manager to watch is Dave Roberts, the "DOD-jers' " skipper. Under him, they've amassed three "Woild" Series wins - ahead of Tommy Lasorda's two but behind Walter Alston's four total (three in "El-Lay").
And interesting how, in Toronto, ON, so-called "light rail" is referred to as "L'Escargot Electrique," given that city's proximity to Montreal, QC which French-speaking contingent is well-known.
And it was noticed that this was "doze Bloo Jays' " first WS loss in the history of that franchise.
In other sports "nooze" . . . in hockey, both Mr. Fischler's "Bloo-shoits" (a.k.a. the "RAIN-jers") and the "Joisey" Devils won, so on the former he can lay off the Maalox for one more day. Amazingly, this Devils' win was on the road, apparently some of the magic from "Pea-Ess' " glory days transmitted itself particularly aggressively on this occasion to ward off the "coyce" of "En-Jay-Tee." |

W.B.:
Your's Truly came up with "Le Escargot Electrique" several years ago, when describing the current bizarre, hideous look of "El-Are-Vees" around the "woild" with a (sadly) now-deceased friend of mine from Baltimore, who was also one of the original members of the BSM.
He HATED "insects"!!!!
Indeed, IMHO, I think that, the past two seasons, the "El-Ay DOD-jers" have garnered not only more fans from far-flung locales, BUT, also, have hained a new respect as well (again, this is NOT the way that the ever-rabid "AYFs" had hoped the 2025 season would end!
As to hockey, indeed, it must be nothing short of BLESSED RELIEF for Mr. Fischler, who can, again, ease off on the Maalox, at least for the moment! (and, it would seem that the "spirit" of the great PSNJ empire can STILL reach out over the miles!)
In my collection, I have two copies of an LP (which I bought years aho in a second-hand record store in Manhattan() :
"OFFICIAL RECORDING"
" 1981 DODGERS-WORLD CHAMPIONS"
(Liner notes):
"......the actual, exciting radio broadcasts of the incredible 1981 Los Angeles Dodgers season, playoffs, and World Series. Includes, the highlights, playoffs, and players of this fabulous team....."
'NARRATED BY VIN SCULLY"
"RADIO BROADCASTS COURTESY OF: KABC TALK RADIO 79"
This collectible LP, featuring some GREAT photos on the sleeve, front and back, is not only a little slice of baseball history by itself, but, also, a MUST for ANYONE who "roots" for "doze DOD-jers from El-Ay"!

The '62 season was also the "foist" in their spanking-new Dodger Stadium. How many streetcars or trolleybuses did Dodger fans have to dodge at or near Chavez Ravine where the new 'park was situated, in that final year of their operation in "El-Lay"? |

W.B.:
When the last remaining LAMTA streetcar lines were converted to buses in March, 1963, the following car lines were still in operation:
"J"
"P"
"R"
"S"
"V"
The last two trolleybus lines were the "2" and the "3"........
SOURCE: "LOS ANGELES RAILWAY YELLOW CARS" (Jim Walker)
"NYO"
*The massive, extensive Georgia Street car yards were totally obliterated after the streetcars stopped running in 1963; today, the huge LA Convention Center occupies the site.....

Further:
The last non-PCC cars on LAMTA rails were retired in 1958, after PCCs replaced them on the "S" line.
A large number of these older cars sat idle in the yards at South Park Shops for some time, before being taken away for scrap........
