The reasoning for the pulse on Sunday is because service is hourly on all the lines except the 66 it minimizes the waiting time for connections.

However it's been alot busier on Sundays than it used to be, plus the buses are going farther out and the timing of the runs has never caught up to that fact. That is the major problems with alot of the runs in Hartford, the running times are way too tight and there is not enough recovery time at the ends on the lines. Artics are not gonna solve that problem.

What should happen is that the 88 should go all the way out to the Lydall Street on Sundays. They would have to add a bus to do this but it would expand the service and not have the drivers pushing like madmen to get out to Manchester and back in a hour. It's a shame the passengers can figure out that it can't be done but the scheduling department at CTTransit can't.

The state can cry poverty all they want....the money is there,they are wasting it for that future failure known as the busway.

The busway is being built with capital money, the majority of which is coming from the federal government. Those funds cannot be used for operations.

They can go with an hr and thirty minute headways with certain trips operating 45 minute headways and two pulse points.

The 30X would run every 2 hrs and 15 minutes starting with first pulse at 8 AM and then follow out night pulse times. The 5S would leave at 12:00. The 45X runs three morning trips at 8, 9:30, & 11; and four afternoon trips at 3, 4:30, 6, & 7:45.


It might be a bit confusing, but its worth a try.
