| Meanwhile, this'll be the last season for Howie Rose on Mets' radio. I can see why he'd do this: He doesn't want to lumber around the way John Sterling had in his last years as Yankees' announcer. |

I "hoid" this on 1010 WINS earlier, but had forgotten to post a "blurb" here.
Of course, EVERYONE has to retire at some point, but, on the flip side, Mr. Rose's retirement closes another colorful chapter in Mets history....let's hope Mr. Rose enjoys a long and happy retirement.........

BTW:
Mets home opener on the 26th, next Thursday (let's hope, after the game, the "7" trains* are jammed with happy Mets fans).....

*(The NYCTM will be running a "Redboid" special to the Mets home opener next Thursday; the special will make all local stops to QP, and then run express to Willets Point) |

I agree . . . and I also note that over the last few years, Mr. Rose has had some health issues which kept him away from the booth. I'm sure he had all that in mind when he made his announcement. |

W.B.:
When health issues are involved (and you are getting up in years) that indeed plays a HUGE factor in making the decision to retire.
Sadly, so many connected with Mets history are no longer with us.
At least, some WF "Bluenoids" and "Redboids" are still alive and kicking!
Being older "museum" cars (non-NTT), I wonder how they operate on the #7, as it is all CNTC these days.......... |
