"Yelloway" - you suppose Yellow Coach had something to do with that?

I see Greyhound was a Yellow customer, though . . .

W,B.:

Indeed!

Right up until YELLOW was taken over by "Gee-Em" in the early 1940s, GREYHOUND rostered a HUGE fleet of YELLOWS (both front- and rear-engined coaches)

They also rostered front-engined MACKS.

With "Pee-Es", their huge fleet, through the 30s and into the 40s, were virtually all YELLOWS (again, both front-and rear-engined models.

In fact, a true "oddball" in the vast "Pee-Es" fleet was the one lone ASV that was built by MACK (all others, ofcourse, were YELLOW).......

Interesting..............

The "Port-of-Authority" opened in late 1950; GREYHOUND, interestingly enough, did not move into the new facility until 1963, 13 years later.

It would have been interesting, to say the least, had GREYHOUND not moved moved into "The Port" until some later date.......

Also of interest:

In David Jacobs' photo book "AMERICAN BUSES" (1985), there is a photo of the corporate offices of "Big Red" (Trailways), then located at 625 8th Avenue.

Besides the TRAILWAYS photos, there are many contemporary GREYHOUND photos; one chapter deals with city buses, and, here, we see a number of "Noo Yawk"photos, including MTA "Dangerfields" and RTS, as well as a great "head on" shot of a "QUEENS TRANSIT" Fishbowl..

Also, a classic two-page photo of a LIBERTY "Buffalo:, signed for the "BXM-1", heading for Riverdale........
