From the "What Else Is New?" department, the "football (not-so-)Giants" lost yet again, the "Eye-landers" are playing (and, so far, losing), and the Devils, "Ka-nikker-bockers" and Nets all play later tonight.

W.B.:

The GIANTS, as I've already said in the past, are now but mere Lilliputians, that can no longer live up to their formidable team name; and, getting back to the "DOD-jers", their 1963 season coincidided with the arrival of the first "Dangerfields"......... Wink

Historical note...........

Through the 1950s, long lines of extra "S" line streetcars would lay over at the nearby South Park Shops, awaiting the mobs of Los Angeles Angels fans, which would soon be streaming out of the nearby Wrigley Field, after a home game (last year for the original "Angels" was 1957).........

Speaking of Lilliputians, the Nets are now 0-6, having lost YET AGAIN, and as I've said, based on their scores they seem to be playing more like the Globetrotters' main opponent the Washington Generals. And the "Joisey" Devils are not even on the scoreboard in "Anna-heim," evidently "En-Jay-Tee's" "coyce" is holding there.

On the plus side, barring a late rally from the opposing team (a.k.a. "da Bulls from Shik-aga"), the "Ka-nikker-bockers" are about to notch a win; as this game's at home ("the Garden" - I refuse to use the same initials as monosodium glutamate), they have the cartoon "Globetrotters" (speaking of whom) in the cheering section. The "Eye-landers" managed to win in a "squeaker" (a syndrome not limited to baseball in general, or what are generally known as the Yankees in particular).

*EDIT*: They did it! The "Ka-nikker-bockers" actually WON tonight on their home "toif."

W.B.:

Thanks for the update; "soitan" teams, whose names I need not mention, just can't seem to get their act together, and simply cannot win for losing. Sad

And, as the "Kan-ikker-bockers" WON on their "home toif", it would seem that those animated "Globetrotters" were on hand tonight at "da garden", cheering them on! Wink

And, as "doze EYE-landers" also won, Mr. Fischler can ease off on the Maalox, again........... Rolling Eyes
