W.B.:
Thanks again for the info.
I see that, by that last day, that the once-dominant RTS fleet was but a mere drop in the bucket, compared to what it was, back in the day.
I STILL consider myself MOST fortunate indeed, 20-odd years back, that I got to ride ex-MTA "Torpedoes" on the old ACADENY "22".
Ahhh, the memories.............

"Slinkies"/"Wurlitzers"..........
Am curious as to what older buses did the "foist" generation of "Slinkies" replace (I know that late date, the last Fishbowls and "Dangerfields" had been all put out to pasture by that time)
What year did the first "Slinkies" enter service?
Is the "Em-Tee-Ay" currently now on their second or third generation of "Slinkies"? (2o25)
Thanks.........

Sounds to me like the initial order of those "Slinkies" would have dovetailed with the start of their "Select Bus Service" - the mid-to-late 2000's. I'd venture they're on their "toid" generation. I was on a "Slinky" in "da Bronx" and they had an older recording of "Please exit through the rear door" than is on the current "BINO's." |

Wn>;
Thanks again!
"En-Jay-Tee" is also on their "toid" generation of "Slinkies"; the "foist" arrived in the late 1980s (*these were the mediocre "VOLVOS" were the the WORST!!!
Next came the "NEOPLANS". which, I'll admit, WERE an improvment; today's lot are the "NEW FLYERS".
When Your's Truly retired. I remember that the "NEOPLANS" were just starting to come on-line.......
