An Inter City White model 1144 shares the scene with two Fifth Avenue Coach buses, an old look TDH-5106 (with the protruding destination sign box) and a new kid on the street, a TDH-5301.

I HAVE NOT SEEN AN INTER-CITY WHITE......IN LIVING COLOR, NO LESS.......IN DECADES!!!!!!!

INTER-CITY's long-gone #97 ran by our old Union City apartment building, back in the 60's, so these buses were VERY familiar sights to Your's Truly (as were the ACF-BRILLS); Mom and I rode them, too!

THANK YOU for posting this VERY nostalgic scene!!!!

				| That 'new kid' looks for all the world like one of the Fifth Avenue Coach Lines Fishbowls. Where would this have been taken?

Looks like the old 167th Street bus terminal before the GWB terminal opened.

				| Hmmm. Now that you mention it, I thought I noticed Columbia-Presbyterian in the background at left . . .

Does almost look like a White Castle, dunnit? And wasn't there a White Tower around 14th Street and 8th Avenue, way back when?

The only question of that FACL Fishbowl, the pic is so lo-res I can't make heads or tails as to whether it was from the first set built (3101-3110) or second (3111-3160). Has to be on a 2 or 5 run, no doubt.

I remember eating breakfast in a White Tower on 2nd Avenue and 14th Street once during the transit strike of 1965. Could the chain have two locations only blocks apart?

White Tower was copy of the older White Castle chain. They were in litigation for years over it, until they finally reached a settlement...
