				Hey All,

I'm new to the forum. and would appreciate your help.

I was wondering if the industry has an bus alternator guru? I'm working on an transit bus alternator issue and I'm looking for someone to tear down a failed alternator and give me a potential failure analysis. Are there any great service companies out there that could perform this for me?

If there is a better forum for me to post this inquiry in please let me know.

Thanks,

Chris |

				Welcome to Bus Talk!

This forum is mainly for bus enthusiasts, so I don't know how likely you will find the information you seek, here.

I would suggest checking with one of the factory service centers of either the manufacturer of your bus, or of its engine...

Good luck! |

Chris, I'd suggest two sources, bulletin boards on which I'm active. Both deal with converted (motorhome) coaches, and some transits. There's a wealth of knowledge on maintenance and resources. One is the bulletin board hosted by Bus Conversions Magazine -- www.busconversionmagazine.com -- and the other is Bus Nuts Online --- busnut.com/forum

One of the first questions that will be asked is your location, since there may be a resource nearby (example, if you're near southern New Jersey, Luke Bonagura is the go-to guy for all maintenance issues).

				A few questions:

What kind of bus?

What kind of alternator?

Where are you located? |

				GBL Rebel,

Sorry. I just saw this. I was notified that I wouldn't have to follow through on the analysis so crisis averted.

Thanks for your response though! |
