As though the world isn't in enough trouble as it is, now we have to change daily routines because our days have been shortened!

It seems as though the Chilean earthquake of last week that registered 8.8 on the Richter Scale (the second or third most powerful ever recorded) caused our planet to shrink by about three inches which, in turn, has sped its rotation making our days over one billionth of a second shorter!

Not to worry though because scientists have said that the earth was slowing down anyway and that this adjustment will probably keep us on an even keel.

I don't know about you, but with my busy schedule that billionth of a second is sure going to be missed!
